The inaugural IPA British Open 2012 will certainly be a title worthy of the pool God’s, a competition where old will meet new as the IPA Tour season kicks off in style – let battle commence!
A participant list featuring 9 of the past 10 world champions (sadly, Mark Selby has other commitments), and including the past three World Masters Champions, plus the world’s two leading challenge match players (Ronan McCarthy & Marc Farnsworth), virtually guarantees the highest quality imaginable, but the list does not stop there.Andy Lucas, classed by many as the world’s greatest Blackball rules exponent, joins the IPA Tour this year for the first time ever, while Arfan Dad returns to the tour after carving out an extremely successful 9 Ball reputation for himself. Lee Nelson is another rising star worth taking note of and will be riding high after his recent success in capturing the prestigious Jersey festival of Pool Title, while the return of another 9 Ball defector in Scott Higgins only adds to the possibilities
With a total of 50 new or returning players this season, the British Open will truly be a beacon for the launch of the 2012 IPA Tour season, and showcase the crème de al crème of the world’s number one cue sport.
